Week 8
· Gathered new sleeve head and sewed onto the toile – looks really effective – improvement from other sleeve – gathers in right place and hangs nicely – tried toile on – happy with it
· Started cutting patterns out in the real fabric – scared! With the expensive fabric – cut all pieces out in silk satin
· Cut out the rest of the pattern pieces out in other fabrics – kept checking the grain line was correct before placing patterns to not waste on fabric
· Had to measure hip line and times it by three to get the measurement needed for the peplum piece which is to be pleated – knife pleats – overlap at top when sewing to get a flared effect - wasn’t sure how many pieces to cut out as the fabric pieces will become much smaller once pleated
· Ready to start sewing!
